Yup. We live in a beautiful province and if you ever need proof, just head to the Bighorn Dam on Lake Abraham. For seven years we’ve been going – hell, I even had my wedding reception here – and year after year it never disappoints. This year I did a photo story over at Exposure. Enjoy.

The Sweetest William

Sweet William | Ongoing | A. Espetveidt | Quadrophonic Image

If there’s one thing I love most about my garden it’s the ability to grow amazing plants to take photos of. I also have what is known as “The Random Seed Garden” where seeds are dropped every spring and awesome stuff grows. It’s currently full of Sweet Williams, a biennial herb that continues to wow with interesting textures, popping colours and developing lineages. Basically, from one season to the next, you never know what you’re going to get. So I’ve started a photo study of these beloved flowers and you can follow along as they progress.

I Love YYC

Out and about today I had to stop and admire the view (and the prairie dogs). I really do love Calgary. Now. Back to renos.

At first I thought that was an alligator in the grass WTF? But then I see it’s just gophers. Whew!

An alligator would have been terrifying – stalking downtown Calgary. Gophers are much more acceptable.

Where Have I Been?

I know it’s been awful quiet here since the start of the year and there’s a good reason for that. At Quadrophonic Headquarters we’re doing a massive renovation lovingly known as #Reno2014 (which is also used for volleyball nationals south of the boarder and other such stuff).

I’ve also been documenting it, of course, and it’s my first major photographic project I’ve done solely using androidography giving it a feel like it’s right out of 1979 (when our house was built).

We’re doing all the work ourselves (minus the awesome art piece coming from Little Monkey Metal Works) so it’s taking me away from my normal world of taking and editing photos, going to arts events and the like. But the good news is you can follow along on Twitter (@QuadroImage) and when it’s all done I’ll be doing a special photo story to commemorate it.
